Nicole's Mission
Nicole Broom has worked in many organizations to support and educate people of all backgrounds. She has a small business called The Art of Knowledge where she works as a mindfulness educator and educational therapist. Nicole is also a singer-songwriter and aspires to become an artist who educates and helps people grow. In the beginning of her career, she worked as a bilingual 5th grade teacher and school administrator. Then she moved into consulting for nonprofit organizations, including Tools for Peace, where she directed a mindfulness camp for teens and trained staff to work with trauma in providing kindness and compassion teachings for kids. The mission of all of her work is to create equality by helping people find the pathways to their goals and providing them with resources that support their social-emotional well-being and overall progress in their lives. In the communities she serves, Nicole hopes to make meaningful music and share the importance of mind-body awareness as she helps people process emotions and use challenges to encounter their own greatness. |

What I think it takes to be an upstander:
I think what it takes to be an upstander is to have a goal or drive to make anything better in anyway possible and to do your best while doing something you love. You need to be able to take care of yourself and also have support from others to keep doing good. I don't think you need to be rich just to have basic education in order to be more equipped for any kind of situation when you're helping others.
